🇳🇱 Drie indrukwekkende kunstwerken die zijn gemaakt voor Schemerlicht Festival veroveren momenteel de internationale podia. De werken van Zhao Zhou, Nicky Assmann en Yolanda Uriz, die in eerdere edities van ons festival te zien waren, worden opgemerkt en doorgeplaatst.
🇬🇧 Three impressive art installations which were developed for Schemerlicht Festival are taking over the international stage as we speak. The works of Zhao Zhou, Nicky Assmann and Yolanda Uriz, which were shown in previous editions of our festival, are being noticed and placed again.
‘Bora: Bora’ claimt Honorary Mention
🇳🇱 Het werk ‘Bora: Bora’ van Zhao Zhou, ontwikkeld binnen ons talentenprogramma en gecoacht door mentor Zalán Szakács, heeft op 7 juli 2025 een Honorary Mention gekregen in de categorie Digital Musics & Sound Art van het prestigieuze Ars Electronica. Het werk biedt een zintuiglijke ervaring, waarbij de installatie de bezoeker uitnodigt de onzichtbare energieën die ons omringen te voelen. Het werk zal van 3 tot en met 7 september 2025 te zien zijn op het Ars Electronica Festival in Linz.
🇬🇧 The work ‘Bora: Bora’ from Zhao Zhou, developed within our talent programma and coached by mentor Zalán Szakács, recieved an Honorary Mention on July 7th 2025 in the category Digital Musics & Sound Art from the prestigious Ars Electronica. The work offers a sensory experience, where the installation invites visitors to feel the invisible energies that are around us. The work will be on display from 3 to 7 September 2025 at the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz.
Nieuw leven voor ‘The Abysses of the Scorching Sun’
🇳🇱 Het monumentale werk ‘The Abysses of the Scorching Sun’ van kunstenaar Nicky Assmann is in opdracht van Schemerlicht volledig vernieuwd en heeft nu een prominente plek gekregen bij het Musée cantonal de design et d’arts appliqués contemporains in Lausanne, Zwitserland. De kinetische lichtsculptuur traceert verschillende hemellichamen in hun reis rond de aarde en projecteert het licht terug de kosmos in. Dit werk is te zien als onderdeel van de tentoonstelling ‘Soleil-s – Solar Biennale 2’, wat de internationale erkenning voor Assmanns werk onderstreept.
🇬🇧 The monumental work ‘The Abysses of the Scorching Sun’ from artist Nicky Assmann was newly developed in commission of Schemerlicht Festival and has now recieved a permanent placement in the Musée cantonal de design et d’arts appliqués contemporains in Lausanne, Switzerland. The kinetic light sculpture traces differtent celestial bodies in their journey around the earth and projects light back into the cosmos. This work is on display in the exhibition ‘Soleil-s – Solar Biennale 2’, which underlines the acknowledgement of Assmanns work internationally.
‘Chemical Calls of Care’ nu in Spaanse collectie
🇳🇱 Het werk ‘Chemical Calls of Care’ van kunstenaar Yolanda Uriz, oorspronkelijk gecreëerd voor Schemerlicht, is aangekocht door de New Art Foundation in Tarragona, Spanje. Tevens wordt het werk doorgeplaatst naar Sónar in Barcelona, Spanje. Haar zelfgenoemde “sciencefiction machine voor bekabelde audio-chemische telecommunicatie” toont een opstelling van flexibele buizen en ventilatoren die geuren van buiten naar de installatieruimte brengen, en andersom.
🇬🇧 The work ‘Chemical Calls of Care’ of artist Yolanda Uriz, originally created for Schemerlicht, is bought by the New Art Foundation in Tarragona, Spain. It is also being displayed at Sónar in Barcelona, Spain. Her self named ‘science fiction machine for wired audio-chemical telecommunication’ shows a line-up of flexible tubes and fans who distribute scents from outside into the installation space, and reversed.
